Love Bites Dammit!

materials:

small amount each of Red, White and Black worsted yarn
felt scraps in Black, White, and Pink
2 smallish wiggly eyes
glue
yarn needle
size "G" hook
fiberfil

pattern:

Head:

with Red,
1st side of top of Heart:
ch 2,
Rnd 1: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, join w/ sl st to 1st sc
Rnd 2: ch 1, 2 sc in same st and ea st around, join w/ sl st to 1st sc
Rnd 3: ch 1, sc in same st and ea st around, join w/ sl st to 1st sc
Finish off.

with Red,
2nd side of top of Heart:
work same as 1st side, but do not finish off.
Rnd 4: ch 1, sc in same st, 3 sc, 2 dec, 4 sc, working on 1st piece - (4 sc, 2 dec, 4 sc), join w/ sl st to 1st sc
Rnd 5: ch 1, sc in same st and ea st around, join w/ sl st to 1st sc
Rnd 6: ch 1, sc in same st, 3 sc, 2 dec, 6 sc, 2 dec, 3 sc, join w/ sl st to 1st sc
Rnd 7: ch 1, sc in same st and ea st around, join w/ sl st to 1st sc
Rnd 8: ch 1, sc in same st and next, 2 dec, 4 sc, 2 dec, 2 sc, join w/ sl st to 1st sc
Stuff lightly.
Rnd 9: ch 1, sc in same st, 2 dec, 2 sc, 2 dec, sc, join w/ sl st to 1st sc
Finish off.

Body:

with White,
Arms: (make 2)
ch 2
Rnd 1: 5 sc in 2nd ch from hook, join w/ sl st to 1st sc
Rnd 2-7: ch 1, sc in same st and ea st around, join w/ sl st to 1st sc
Finish off.

with Black,
Legs:
1st Leg:
ch 2,
Rnd 1: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, join w/ sl st to 1st sc
Rnd 2-8: ch 1, sc in same st and ea st around, join w/ sl st to 1st sc
Finish off.

2nd Leg and Torso:
work same as 1st leg, but do not finish off.
Rnd 9: ch 1, sc in same st and around this leg and then the other, join w/ sl st to 1st sc
Rnd 10: ch 1, sc in same st and around, changing to white with last yo
Rnd 11-16: ch 1, sc in same st and around
Rnd 17: ch 1, sc in same st and next, 2 sc through body and 1st arm, 4 sc on body only, 2 sc through body and 2nd arm, 2 sc on body only, join w/ sl st to 1st sc
Rnd 18: ch 1, sc in same st and next, 3 sc in un-used sts on arm, skipping sc worked through both thicknesses - 4 sc on body, 3 sc in un-used sts on other, sc in last 2 sts on body
Stuff lightly.
Rnd 19: ch 1, sc in same st, 6 dec, sc
Finish off leaving a long tail for sewing.

Cloak and Vest Templates.

The templates are partial templates.  Fold paper in half at right edge of template then cut on lines to give full template.  Cloak may be lengthened if desired.

Cloak Template.

Vest Template.

Cut vest from Pink Felt.

Cut cloak from Black Felt.

Cut small slivers of White Felt for fangs.

Sew head onto top of body.
Sew or glue right arm to side.

Glue on eyes.
Embroider mouth with Black yarn.
Glue fangs in place.

Glue or sew vest in place.
Tie cloak around neck with Black yarn.
Attach cloak to left arm and attach arm across the body.
