Love Bites Dammit!

materials:

small amount each of Red, White and Black worsted yarn
felt scraps in Black, White, and Pink
2 smallish wiggly eyes
glue
yarn needle
size "G" hook
fiberfil

pattern:

Head:

with Red,
1st side of top of Heart:
chain 2,
Rnd 1: 6 single crochet in 2nd chain from hook, join with slip stitch to 1st single crochet
Rnd 2: chain 1, 2 single crochet in same stitch and each stitch around, join with slip stitch to 1st single crochet
Rnd 3: chain 1, single crochet in same stitch and each stitch around, join with slip stitch to 1st single crochet
Finish off.

with Red,
2nd side of top of Heart
:
work same as 1st side, but do not finish off.
Rnd 4: chain 1, single crochet in same stitch, 3 single crochet, 2 decrease, 4 single crochet, working on 1st piece - (4 single crochet, 2 decrease, 4 single crochet), join with slip stitch to 1st single crochet
Rnd 5: chain 1, single crochet in same stitch and each stitch around, join with slip stitch to 1st single crochet
Rnd 6: chain 1, single crochet in same stitch, 3 single crochet, 2 decrease, 6 single crochet, 2 decrease, 3 single crochet, join with slip stitch to 1st single crochet
Rnd 7: chain 1, single crochet in same stitch and each stitch around, join with slip stitch to 1st single crochet
Rnd 8: chain 1, single crochet in same stitch and next, 2 decrease, 4 single crochet, 2 decrease, 2 single crochet, join with slip stitch to 1st single crochet
Stuff lightly.
Rnd 9: chain 1, single crochet in same stitch, 2 decrease, 2 single crochet, 2 decrease, single crochet, join with slip stitch to 1st single crochet
Finish off.

Body:

with White,
Arms: (make 2)
chain 2
Rnd 1: 5 single crochet in 2nd chain from hook, join with slip stitch to 1st single crochet
Rnd 2-7: chain 1, single crochet in same stitch and each stitch around, join with slip stitch to 1st single crochet
Finish off.

with Black,
Legs:
1st Leg:
chain 2,
Rnd 1: 6 single crochet in 2nd chain from hook, join with slip stitch to 1st single crochet
Rnd 2-8: chain 1, single crochet in same stitch and each stitch around, join with slip stitch to 1st single crochet
Finish off.

2nd Leg and Torso:
work same as 1st leg, but do not finish off.
Rnd 9: chain 1, single crochet in same stitch and around this leg and then the other, join with slip stitch to 1st single crochet
Rnd 10: chain 1, single crochet in same stitch and around, changing to white with last yo
Rnd 11-16: chain 1, single crochet in same stitch and around
Rnd 17: chain 1, single crochet in same stitch and next, 2 single crochet through body and 1st arm, 4 single crochet on body only, 2 single crochet through body and 2nd arm, 2 single crochet on body only, join with slip stitch to 1st single crochet
Rnd 18: chain 1, single crochet in same stitch and next, 3 single crochet in un-used stitches on arm, skipping single crochet worked through both thicknesses - 4 single crochet on body, 3 single crochet in un-used stitches on other, single crochet in last 2 stitches on body
Stuff lightly.
Rnd 19:
chain 1, single crochet in same stitch, 6 decrease, single crochet
Finish off leaving a long tail for sewing.

Cloak and Vest Templates.

The templates are partial templates.  Fold paper in half at right edge of template then cut on lines to give full template.  Cloak may be lengthened if desired.

Vest Template.

Cut vest from Pink Felt.

Cut cloak from Black Felt.

Cut small slivers of White Felt for fangs.

Sew head onto top of body.
Sew or glue right arm to side.

Glue on eyes.
Embroider mouth with Black yarn.
Glue fangs in place.

Glue or sew vest in place.
Tie cloak around neck with Black yarn.
Attach cloak to left arm and attach arm across the body.
