Rose Trellis Doily

Size “0” hook
Size “10” thread in a neutral color, (a foliage color and a floral color – for embellishments)
double treble crochet – yarn over 3x, insert hook where indicated, draw up a loop, (yarn over, draw through 2 loops) until 1 loop remains on hook
chain 4, join with slip stitch to form ring
Rnd 1: slip stitch in ring, chain 3, 11 double crochet in ring, join with slip stitch to 3rd beginning chain
Rnd 2: chain 4, (double crochet, chain 1) in each double crochet around, join with slip stitch to 3rd beginning chain; 12 chain-spaces
Rnd 3: chain 5, (double crochet, chain 2) in each double crochet around, join with slip stitch to 3rd beginning chain; 12 chain-spaces
Rnd 4: slip stitch in next space, chain 1, 3 single crochet in same space and in each space around, slip stitch in 1st single crochet; 36 stitches
Rnd 5: (chain 10, skip next single crochet, slip stitch in next single crochet) 17 times, chain 5, double treble crochet in same single crochet as joining from previous Rnd; 18 loops
Rnd 6-11: (chain 10, single crochet in next loop) 17 times, chain 5, double treble crochet in double treble crochet in previous. Rnd.
Rnd 12: slip stitch in loop just finished, chain 1, 5 single crochet in same loop, 10 single crochet in each loop around, 5 single crochet in loop to finish partial group, join with slip stitch to 1st single crochet; 180 single crochet
Rnd 13: chain 4, (double crochet, chain 1) in each single crochet around, join with slip stitch to 3rd beginning chain.
Weave in ends.
Pin to blocking board (trust me)
With Green, work vines (with chain stitches, and occasional slip stitches to keep in place) and leaves randomly on doily (I crocheted the leaves separately and sewed them on.)
With floral color, works rosebuds separately and sew on where desired.
Leaf pattern: chain 4, work 3 double crochet in 4th chain from hook, chain 3, work cluster, finish off
Rosebud pattern: chain 21, double crochet in 5th chain from hook, *skip 1 chain, (double crochet, chain 1, double crochet) in next chain, repeat from * across. Finish off. Keeping the ends to the outside, roll piece up to form rose bud. Use loose ends to fasten piece in coil.
