Shell Scarf

materials:

size "J" hook
3 1/2 oz (or more) any solid color yarn

special instructions:

to work shell: (3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) in indicated st or sp

pattern:

ch 37
Row 1 (foundation row): work shell in 4th ch from hook, sk 2 ch, sc in next ch, (sk 2 ch, work shell in next ch, sk 2 ch, sc in next ch) 5 times; 6 shells
Row 2 (pattern row): ch 3, (work shell in ch-sp of previous row, sk to sc, dc in sc) 5 times, work shell in ch-sp of remaining shell, dc in 3rd ch of previous row
Row 3 - ??: rep Row 2 until desired length (I like my scarves as tall as I am)
finishing row: ch 3, sc in ch-sp, ch 3, sc in dc) 5 times, ch 3, sc in ch-sp, ch 3, sc in 3rd ch of previous row
finish off with sl st
weave in ends
