materials:

worsted weight yarn in spring green, dark green, and white
yarn needle
fiber-fil
size "I" hook

pattern:
stem:
with spring green,
holding 2 strands of yarn together,
ch 2
Rnd 1: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, join w/ sl st to 1st sc
Rnd 2-6: ch 1, sc in same st, sc around, join w/ sl st to 1st sc
finish off and set aside

with spring green,
holding 2 strands of yarn together,
ch 2
Rnd 1: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, join w/ sl st to 1st sc
Rnd 2-6: ch 1, sc in same st, sc around, join w/ sl st to 1st sc
Rnd 7: ch 1, sc in same st and around this piece, sc around 1st piece, join w/ st st to 1st sc of this row
Rnd 8-14: ch 1, sc in same st and around, join w/ sl st to 1st sc
Rnd 15: rep Rnd 8, changing ONE strand of green to white on last yo
Rnd 16, 17: rep Rnd 8
Rnd 18: rep Rnd 8, changing 2nd strand of green to white on last yo (both strands should be white now)
Rnd 19-21: rep Rnd 8
Rnd 22: ch 1, sc in same st, dec (sc, dec) around, join w/ sl st to 1st sc
stuff stem lightly
Rnd 23: ch 1, dec starting in same st, dec around, join w/ sl st to 1st dec
finish off, sew closed

leaves (make 2):
with only one strand of dark green,
leaving a long tail for sewing,
ch 6, join w/ sl st to form ring
Row 1: sl st in ring, ch 3, 11 dc in ring
Row 2: ch 4, turn, (dc, ch 1) bet every dc across, dc in 3rd beg ch
Row 3: turn, sl st in 1st ch-sp, ch 1, sc in same sp, (ch 3, sc) in ea ch-sp across
rep Row 3 until last row worked has only one loop
finish off

using photo for placement,
sew leaves on
embroider face with dark green
weave in all remaining ends
