small amount of black yarn
black felt
blue felt
glue (suitable for fabric - I used Aleene's Tacky Glue)

body is made in two pieces, front and back

pattern:

body: (make 2)
chain 5
Rnd 1: starting in 2nd chain from hook, single crochet across, 3 single crochet in last chain, working back across single crochet in unused loops of starting chain, 2 more single crochet in same stitch as first single crochet, join with slip stitch to 1st single crochet
Rnd 2: chain 1, 2 single crochet in same stitch, 2 single crochet, (2 single crochet in next stitch) 3x, 2 single crochet, (2 single crochet in next stitch) 2x, join with slip stitch
Rnd 3: chain 1, single crochet in same stitch, 2 single crochet in next stitch, 3 single crochet, (2 single crochet in next stitch, single crochet) 2x, 2 single crochet in next stitch, 3 single crochet, 2 single crochet in next stitch, single crochet, 2 single crochet in next stitch, join with slip stitch
Rnd 4: chain 1, single crochet in same stitch and next, 2 single crochet in next stitch, 4 single crochet, (2 single crochet in next stitch, 2 single crochet) 2x, 2 single crochet in next stitch, 4 single crochet, 2 single crochet in next stitch, 2 single crochet, 2 single crochet in next stitch, join with slip stitch

ears: (make 2)
chain 2
Rnd 1: 6 single crochet in 2nd chain from hook, join with slip stitch to 1st single crochet
Rnd 2: chain 1, 2 single crochet in same stitch and in each stitch around, join with slip stitch
Rnd 3-7: chain 1, single crochet in same stitch and around, join with slip stitch
finish off

arms/legs: (make 4)
chain 2
Rnd 1,2: same as ears
Rnd 3: chain 1, single crochet in same stitch, 2 single crochet in next stitch, (single crochet, 2 single crochet in next stitch) around, join with slip stitch
Rnd 4-18: chain 1, single crochet in same stitch and around, join with slip stitch

assembly:
- stuff legs, arms, and ears lightly
- sew halves of body together attaching legs, arms and ears as you go
- stuff body before completing last few stitches (body should remain more or less flat)

eye and nose template.  blue of eye should be cut out as an oval, with black pupil glued on top

- cut eyes from felt (blue background, black pupil) and glue in place
- cut nose from black felt and glue in place
- with black yarn, embroider mouth
