Does this mean I never grant permissions for anything
else?
No, of course not. I am more than willing to consider granting
permissions on a case by case basis. Please feel free to email me if you
would like to discuss permissions for something you have in mind.
What will make me more likely to grant permissions?
Well, there are a few things.
1) Ask nicely. It seems like a no-brainer, and really, I've never had anyone be mean about it. However, I have had a few people try to take advantage of my generosity and assume that they could do whatever they wanted to with my patterns just because I post them to the internet.
2) I am much more likely to approve permissions for a good cause. This does not mean that I will only grant permissions for a few super-specific "personal crusades" of my own. There are many things that I would consider a good cause - including, but not limited to: kids, education, domestic abuse, shelters, cancer research, etc.
What will I not approve?
I will not, under any circumstances, grant blanket permissions to
everything on my site. Sorry, it doesn't work that way.
You cannot use my patterns, free or otherwise, for personal gain. Making you money at a craft show is not a good enough cause, no offense, sorry. I am not making much, if anything, from these patterns. I simply don't see a reason why someone else should benefit monetarily from them. Again, nothing personal.
