My grandma taught me this square, I don't honestly where she learned it.
join all rounds with slip stitch
beginning chain-3 will count as double crochet
chain 7-10 (if your chain tends to be tight, you will need 10 stitches)
join with slip stitch to form ring
slip stitch in ring
Rnd 1: chain 3, 2 double crochet in ring, chain 3, turn, 1 double crochet
in each double crochet (including beginning chain, total 4 -- 3 double crochet
+ chain), turn back, (3 double crochet in ring, chain 3, turn, 1 double crochet
in each double crochet, turn back) 7 times, join with slip stitch in 3rd beginning
chain; 8 petals, 8 spaces
continue as with plain/traditional granny square--flower will function as 1st 2
rounds of square
