Black-Eyed Susan Trivet

materials:

worsted weight yarn in brown and yellow
size "H" hook

pattern:

with brown
chain 10, join with slip stitch to form ring
Rnd 1: slip stitch in ring, chain 3, 17 double crochet in ring, join with slip stitch to 3rd beginning chain
Rnd 2: chain 3, double crochet in same stitch, 2 double crochet in each stitch around, join with slip stitch to 3rd beginning chain
Finish off.

with yellow
Rnd 3:
1st Pineapple: join with double crochet between any stitches of Rnd 2, 8 double crochet in same space, chain 4, turn, (double crochet, chain 1) between all stitches across, double crochet in last double crochet, turn, single crochet in 1st chain-space, (chain 3, single crochet) in each space across, * turn, slip stitch in 1st chain, single crochet in chain-space, (chain 3, single crochet) in each space across, repeat from * until last row worked has 1 chain-space, finish off
Remaining Pineapples: starting 6 stitches from previous pineapple, join and complete in same manner as 1st pineapple
Finish off
Attach petals to each other
Weave in ends.
