This square may be worked past the pattern to a larger size in the same manner as a regular granny square.
chain 8, slip stitch in 1st chain to form ring
Rnd 1: slip stitch in ring, chain 1, 20 single crochet in ring, join with
slip stitch to 1st single crochet
Rnd 2: chain 1, single crochet in same stitch, half double crochet,
double crochet, chain 3, double crochet, half double crochet, * single crochet,
half double crochet, double crochet, chain 3, double crochet, half double
crochet, repeat
from * 2 more times, join to 1st single crochet with slip stitch; 20 stitches, 4
chain-sps
Rnd 3: slip stitch in next 2 stitches and in chain-sp, chain 3, (2 double
crochet, chain 1, 3 double crochet) in same chain-sp,
* (working in both loops, 3 double crochet in next single crochet), (3 double
crochet, chain 1, 3 double crochet) in next chain-sp, rep from
* 2 more times, (working in both loops, 3 double crochet in next single crochet), join to 3rd
chain with slip stitch
Rnd 4: work same as a regular granny square
finish off
weave in ends
