materials:

worsted weight yarn in two colors
size "H" or "I" hook

pattern:

w/ 1st color,
ch 10, join w/ sl st to form ring
Rnd 1: sl st in ring, ch 3 - counts as 1st dc, 3 dc in ring, ch 1, (4 dc in ring, ch 1) 3x, join w/ sl st to 3rd beg ch
Rnd 2: * (3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) bet 2nd and 3rd dc, sc in ch-sp, rep from * around, join w/ sl st to same st as last join
Finish off

w/ 2nd color
Rnd 3: join w/ sc to any ch-sp, * (4 tr, ch 1, 4 tr) in sc, sc in ch-sp, rep from * around - omitting sc on last rep, join w/ sl st to 1st sc
Finish off
Weave in ends.
